Brooklyn Kaikala Kamalu
January 30th
7 lbs. 10 oz.
20.5 inches long
Needless to say we are all in love with our new valentine.
This is the first day home, and the girls all had a matching pajama party.
This picture proves I have no pride right? The lovely half hour after birth retaining water picture. :)
Side note:
Scout on Breastfeeding: "Mom, you shouldn't let her drink ALL your milk because if we have a brother one day, he will need some too."
Boston on Breastfeeding: (This was said with a very concerned look) "Baby gonna dink MY test?" translation: Is the baby going to drink MY chest?
I quickly put her worry to rest when I told her she would only eat from mommy. :)
Is it just me or do we quickly forget how many options for release a newborn has and that they choose to employ all options at the same time? Puking, peeing, and pooing all at once. Pretty impressive.
Needless to say, this baby has brought on a slew of questions that mom isn't quite sure how to answer.
"But Mom? How DO you push a baby out?"
"Why do you have a bum-washer?" (About the spray bottle the hospital sends you home with.)
Boston came up to me at the hospital and patted my belly and said, "Oh baby sissy!" To which I replied after pointing, "No, baby sissy is right there see?" Boston gave me a weird look and said, "NO, that's baby Brook-a-lyn." And turning back to my belly and patting said, "This is baby sissy."
Okay, so now my belly has a name. Nice.
The one thing they do seem to understand is that she belongs to us and we are a family. Among all the things they aren't sure about, they never question the need for love, where she came from, and that there is a Heavenly Father in heaven who loves us and is blessing us through every miracle great and small.
I just want to say thank you to everyone for all of your support and well wishes with this little one.
Thanks to our families.
Of course it isn't a surprise that we couldn't make it without you.

Such a sweet, precious little girl and such sweet stories. Congrats! What a fun time to have a new little girl with all the pink and love that's already going around. Have so much fun and good luck with all the business of a new little one.

Congrats! You have such a beautiful family. I wish you a quick recovery! You're such a wonderful mom, those girls are lucky to have you! These pictures make me so excited for our little one to be here. You have to love all the inquiries little ones have. Enjoy all those precious moments.
Oh my goodness, I dont look at blogs for months and look what I miss. :) She is beautiful!!! You guys make such darling girls!! Congrats to you both!!!
She is a cutie. I can't wait to meet her. I got some cute outfits yesterday for all the girls for March. I am so excited!
Congratulations! She is beautiful! You have three of the most beautiful girls ever!
What a BEAUTIFUL baby! She is definitely yours. I wish we could be there to bring you some steaks. I laughed so hard at Scout and Boston's questions. My favorite from Jack lately was, "Mom, how people make babies?" I said, "Babies come from Heavenly Father." He said, "No, but how PEOPLE make babies?" I came up with the very tactful, "A mommy and daddy just decide they want to make a baby and then one starts growing in mom's tummy." I think he was confused enough to just let it drop!
And what a great name! Very cute.
So glad your newest addition arrived safe and sound. Congratulations! She's adorable.
I think all the questions are just hillarious. My 2 were asking me all sorts of interesting questions that were difficult to explain to 2-3 year olds :) they even ask babysitters, grandmas, or any female person, if they have "milks" for the baby.
I bet your girls are great big sisters, and big helpers :). Enjoy her. They get big so quickly!
Oh she is so beautiful!
And your girls are so so cute. Breastfeeding can bring a lot of questions - Kayta numorous time has tried to breastfeed her dolls. Sometimes in front of male company and she does not cover up and all I can think is nice!
so glad she is here and healthy. Let me know if you need a break Scout and Boston are welcome here.
Congratulations on your new little baby, she is absolutely adorable. We couldn't be more excited for you!
