Cancun 2010

Ben and I had the opportunity to go with Ben's company to Cancun for about a week, and we had a FABULOUS time. We had to take little Brooklyn for obvious reasons, and she was a champ through it all. She had to be packed all around Mexico in the Kelty Kids pack, and she was quite sweet about it. Please ignore my hair in all the following pictures. With the humidity I look like a shaggy-haired baseball player....instead of what I really am....a shaggy-haired mom.

In the lobby of our resort

Dinner on the beach, but you can't tell....

This is how Brooklyn spent her vacation

Stir fry in our little bungalow of sorts

Not Buddha in his hut....Just me nursing on the go.

We don't drink...unless it is free and nonalcoholic of course.

I bought this swimming suit for Brooklyn for the trip and the fat rolls were billowing out of it, and then I tried to put Boston's old sun-hat on her and she looked like a pirate. It was HUGE on her and I couldn't stop laughing because of the faces she was pulling. She looked ridiculous in that hat, and we both knew it.

Sister Kamalu Returns

A few weeks ago, we headed down to St. George to welcome home Ben's sister Danielle from her mission in Toronto Canada. She was a great missionary, and we are so proud of her. We also took advantage of some good weather and the girls took rides on the bike, and played with family and friends. Ben was also able to take his bike and get in a little training before the big race on May 1st. It was great to see Lish and Phil and Calvin too.

It was a really quick trip, but we had a great time just being with family.

As you can see from the following pictures, I am just not going to get all my girls (at least Scout and Boston) smiling and loking at the camera at once. Cousin Evelyn was the best smiler, and she is only four months old. :)

Scouty is Four

Scouty turned four a few weeks after the baby was born, but of course I am just getting around to posting it now. She wanted "skaters" (roller skates) just like Kit Kitridge, so she can skate on carpet....and she wanted to go to Brick Oven so she could get a lollypop sunday. She is such a sweet little thing. She helps every day and loves her sisters. I am so glad she is my oldest. Here are a few things about Scout that I want to remember about her at this age:

-She still doesn't go to sleep before 10:00pm on most nights.
-She loves her little joy school class that meets on Tuesdays.
-She doesn't say, "What day is it tomorrow?" She says, "What is the day we are going on?" Or, "What night are we going on?"
-She had a goldfish named Sally for one day, and it died. She had just learned about the resurrection in Sunbeams, and after I tried to break it to her gently that her little Sally had died, she said, "Oh well. She'll be back in three days." She now has no remorse when people or animals die. She just says, "Oh, they'll be back."
-She is worried that every store we go in is going to close on us, and so she doesn't want to go to any stores after about three in the afternoon. I don't know what started this obsession. But no matter what I say, she is sure that the store will close with people in it.
- She loves telling Brooklyn stories.
-She tries to protect Boston from any punishment. She will take beatings to the head, pulling of hair, and doing without her favorite toys (because Boston won't share.), and still feels bad when I put Boston in timeout for all of the above.
-She loves anything that involves a lot of energy, and movement.
- She LOVES to laugh.
-She loves her grandmas and grandpas and all her relatives.
-She teaches me a lot about what life is really meant to be like, and I can't believe how fast the last four years have gone.

I love you Scout.
