Mom: "Scout! Come and get your hair done."
Scout: "I don't want to get my hair done."
Mom: "Hurry Scout."
(Scout comes into the bathroom pouting and dragging her feet.)
Scout: "Why do I have to get my hair done? I don't want to."
Mom: "You should be glad that you have a mom who cares about you and helps you
to be clean and comb your hair."
Scout: "Well, Mowgli on Jungle Book didn't have a mom and he liked it."
Mom: "Yeah, and Mowgli only had one pair of undies too."
An unsatisfied silence followed...

Brought to you by Ben...
Sometimes the turns and twirls of the drive are disorienting and dizzying. I know because I have two crazy little squirels that remind me of this daily. However I love them. I love little voices that giggle in your ear in the morning and when I come home from work. I love little hands that reach up and ask "I hold you daddy?". I love making pies with my girls and laugh when it is midnight and they tell me while they make their own with the scraps that it is all "brought to you by Nap-Away" (from Hairspray for those who don't know). I love that they are pure and for them, life is simple. I love that no one has told them they can't accomplish their dreams and that they still believe they can do anything. I love when they ask me "Daddy...don't I look pretty in my new skirt!". And I love that there is one more on the way.
As for the Queen of the house, she may tell you that she is overwhelmed and that life is daft but I can testify to the contrary. She is perfect for the job. I am grateful to her for life, love, and happiness. She has taught and teaches me to be a better me and to love a greater love. She is perfect for me in every way. Love you sweetheart. You can do it!

I Love These...

The problem is I want them all. If you are having a baby or decorating a child's room, don't go to Euphoriababy.com.....

Today
-Boston pooped in her underwear three times.
-Boston colored with black crayon all over her dresser.
-Boston wrecked every bed after I had just made it.
-Boston took decorations off my bookshelf and broke them.
-Boston dumped her lunch all over the counter and smeared it.
-Boston poked me in the eye so that I couldn't see (This was an accident, but does it really matter at this point?)
-Boston took all the books off her bookshelf and started ripping them.
-Boston went to time out.
-Boston wet her pants after doing so well at the "pee part" of potty training.
-Boston told me she loved me.
-Boston gave me hugs and kisses.
-Boston snuggled with me in my bed and told me stories.
-Boston loves without reservation and forgives without question.
-Even though my sanity left me a long time ago, I think I owe her the same.
This post is for the recording of the memory. I love you Boston.
Scout? She has been an angel as always.
Oh how I love being a mother to my little girls.

The Zoo and a Little More Pink
On Labor Day we took the girls to the zoo, and had a great time. Boston is our animal lover, and has been talking about the baby giraffe for a week now.
A little sun, icecream, and animal smells drifting through the air-
Not much more to ask for-
Hope your holiday was just as great.

P.S. We will add a little more pink to our family when we welcome a little girl the first week of February. Ben has officially been outnumbered for a while now, but he is such a great dad for little girls. He is so patient with all the drama, pink, frills, tea parties, matching dresses, and he is even getting pretty good at doing hair. We are excited for this little baby to be a part of our family! And now you know why I haven't been bloging so well. I have been puking instead. I am feeling better now, so hopefully each post won't be months apart. Thanks for still checking in on us every now and then.

Little Guava Jellies
This post is WAY overdue as most of mine are these days, but Scout had her first hula recital at the end of May, and I have been meaning to post pictures. She loves her hula class. Dancing "just like Daddy" is one of her favorite things to do. And I love that she loves to do it.

Grand Marshall Morgan
Free potted plants, popsicles, candy, drinks, flyers, and even two bags of dried cherries.
Who'd have thought Santaquin, Utah could put on such an extravaganza?
But the best part about the Orchard Days parade was surely the Celebrity Grand Marshall and his beautiful sweetheart sitting by his side!
We love you Grandpa and Granny Nell!
